In a moment when AI can generate essays in seconds, the value of learning to write has never been higher. Writing encourages clarity of thought, intellectual independence, and a distinct voice. This is ultimately more important than the product of writing. I tutor writing because I believe students deserve more than shortcuts; they deserve the ability to think critically, argue effectively, and express ideas with precision. AI can assist, but it cannot replace the deep learning that happens when a student learns to wrestle with their own ideas and put them into words.
